PNG is a normal image. SVG is a scalable vector image suited to diagrams. The whiteboard project file preserves objects for reopening in this tool.

The tool keeps a local recovery draft and warns when you have unsaved changes, but you should download important work.

After the page and its scripts have loaded, drawing and exports do not require a server. Whether the page can be reopened offline depends on your browser cache.
